D. Neale "Buster" Hanley, II
With his family name on the sign, Buster makes sure every encounter he has with an individual or family is one he can be proud of. Being an integral part of the Pekin community – seeing people at the grocery store, church and festivals – helps create a great sense of accountability for Buster and a desire to be sure they are treated right. After completing his education at Illinois Wesleyan University and Worsham College of Mortuary Science, Buster returned home in 1992 as a trusted funeral director and embalmer. Buster is actively involved in the community. He’s a lifelong resident of Pekin and has been greatly involved in the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce. He presently serves on the City of Pekin Economic Development Advisory Committee, UnityPoint Health - Pekin Hospital Foundation Board, Tazewell County St. Jude Golf Classic, a member of the 40 Leaders Under 40 group and is a member of Harvest Bible Chapel in East Peoria. In addition to being an Illinois Licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer, he is a Certified Crematory Operator, Certified Cemetery Manager and Certified Preplanning Consultant. Buster and his wife, Joely, enjoy golf, grilling out and traveling in their free time. They have two children in college, Tyler and Megan.
Charles R. Hanley
Working with families isn’t about checking items off a list for Charlie. Everything he does comes from the heart. No matter what the task, he strives for a high level of service and professionalism... whether that means making arrangements for someone who passed away out of state or transporting flowers after a funeral to a family’s home. Charlie is also extremely involved in our community. He’s an active member and leader at various clubs and organizations including Pekin Grace United Methodist Church, the Rotary Club of Pekin, the Tazewell Animal Protective Society and many more. In his free time, you can find Charlie warming up his vocals for the Pekin Civic Chorus and he’s passionate about the work they do at TAPS No-Kill Animal Shelter.
Stephanie K. Stoneking
As Pekin’s only hometown female licensed funeral director, Stephanie always gives the families she works with her undivided attention and support. It’s more than just providing a service. It’s about becoming a friend. Stephanie is also a leader and supports our community. The past president of the United Way of Pekin Board, she has also served as the campaign chair for the annual fund drive. Stephanie also coached for the Special Olympics in Pekin and Lincoln. In her free time, she loves running outdoors and being active as well as spending time with her husband, Corey, and children, Noah and Bradon.
David E. Vaupel
Showing compassion is only one of the things Dave does at Preston-Hanley. He’s also a great planner. Whether it's before or at the time of need, he’ll work with you to make decisions that will help create a lasting memorial for loved ones. In his free time, you’ll find Dave outdoors hunting deer and pheasant or spending time with his wife, Mary Ann, and sons, Kris and Jarrod. Serving families with the highest quality of service and care is Vince’s approach at Preston-Hanley and is a testament to the Central Illinois roots this Metamora native brings to every family he works with. Vince received his degree in mortuary science at Worsham College of Mortuary Science, where he also worked and lived in a funeral home. He graduated top of his class and was awarded the Twin Pine Cremation Scholarship for his outstanding community effort and caring manner. Vince went on to complete his apprenticeship in Highland Park and receive his Illinois license as a funeral director, embalmer and crematory operator. Following his apprenticeship, Vince relocated back to Central Illinois to be closer to his family and friends. In his free time, you’ll often find Vince continuing to study one of his first interests, horticulture and gardens.
Dean L. Goff
Dean takes being a people pleaser to heart – especially when it comes to his job. He goes out of his way to make sure the families we work with know we care and that we will do everything in our power to carry out their wishes, adhere to budgets and celebrate the life remembered. Dean is actively involved with the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce. He also enjoys besting his score (and his opponents’) in both golf and bowling. Dean spends the rest of his time keeping up with his wife, Dana, and kids, Katie and David.
