EAST PEORIA ~ Joetta Good Rhodes, 67, of 121 Pierson Street, passed away at 9:05 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at her home. Born Nov. 2, 1942 in Coffee County, TN to Lewis B. and Margie A. (Lane) Good, she married William L. Bill Rhodes on June 19, 1973 in Peoria. Surviving are three sons, Steven L. Hammer of Streator, Larry J. (Jackie) Hammer of East Peoria and Shawn R. (Rebekah Zilch and Cindy Summers-Taylor) Kelly of Eureka, seven grandchildren, Ashley, Zachary and Aubree Hammer, Brittanie, Johnathon, Shawn and McKenzie Kelly and sister, Erllene Stewart. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lewis B. Good, Jr. and Barrett A. Good and one sister, Vicky L. Geirsch. She was a graduate of Metamora High School. J oetta was a homemaker and loved to go fishing and camping. She was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. She also was a fan of The Price is Right. She will be remembered as a devoted grandmother. Her funeral will be at 8 p.m. Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. The Rev. Rich Kensinger will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4234 North Knoxville Avenue, Peoria, IL 61614. |
