Brady P. Hackman

PEKIN ~ Brady Phillip Hackman, 14, of Pekin, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at his home.
 
He was born February 28, 2003 in Pekin to Troy and Mandy (Wilson) Hackman.
 
Surviving are his mother and step-father, Mandy and Mathew Heilman of Pekin; father, Troy Hackman of Havana; one brother, Jace Nathaniel Hackman of Pekin; grandparents, Rodney and Arlene Wilson of Millstadt,  Debra Wilson of Pekin, Gerald and Christina Hackman of The Villages, Florida, Pamela Gamber of East Peoria, and Wanda Heilman of Streator; great-grandfather, Dean Wilson of Manito; uncles and aunts, Shane and Kelly Hackman, Jeff and Randi Ulbricht, Daniel and Jennifer Ulbricht, Misty Heilman and Devin Heilman; many cousins; and a large and loving extended family.
 
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Dave Gamber, Sr.; and great-grandparents, Alice Wilson, Donna Moore, Vernon Hackman, and Pauline Hackman. 
 
Brady attended Pekin Community High School, where he was a member of the Key Club.  He played Pekin JFL, Pekin Pride Soccer, and Pekin Boys and Girls Club Baseball.  He had attended Broadmoor Junior High School and participated in track and cross country.
 
Brady loved running, weight lifting, CrossFit, cars, video games, music, tubing, and boating.  He enjoyed all things mechanical and working with his hands.  He will also be remembered for having a helpful heart and a love for little kids.
 
He attended Harvest Bible Chapel in East Peoria.
 
His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  Deacon Bob Sondag will officiate.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Private burial will be at St. Fredericks Catholic Cemetery in Manito.
