PEKIN ~ Irene S. Tamborine, 94, of Pekin, passed away at 7:01 a.m. Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Pekin Manor, where she was a resident since September 2015.
Born May 16, 1924 in Forest City to George C. and Effie (Ingersoll) Beard, she married Lewis G. Tamborine on October 26, 1963 in Pekin. He died April 16, 1995 in Pekin. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother; one sister; two nieces and one step-son.
Irene is survived by three nieces, Debbie (George) Cornwell of Pekin, Linda (Michael) Stiltz of Forest City and Darlene (Steve) Tomey of Arizona; one nephew, Charles (Maxine) Beard of Stronghurst; one step-daughter, Jeannie (Terry) Brown of Pekin and their family.
She had worked as the office manager at Ehrett Auto Supply in Pekin for 60 plus years.
Irene was an avid bowler and had bowled in many national tournaments throughout her life.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Pekin for more than 50 years.
Private graveside services will be held at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Pastor Hank Anderson will officiate.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
