PEKIN ~ Jeffery Howard Innis, 68, of Pekin, passed away at 4:25 a.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at UnityPoint Health - Pekin Emergency Room. He was formerly of Creve Coeur
Born December 4, 1949 in Peoria to Howard E. and Leah L. (Pilant) Innis, he married Christine Elaine King on July 13, 1968 in Creve Coeur. She died August 4, 1992 in Pekin. He also was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Gene Innis and two sisters, Dixie Meischner and Judy Curtis.
Surviving are two sons, Tony (Shelley Selman-Gregg) Innis of East Peoria and Joseph (Jamie) Innis of Pekin; one daughter, Karrie (Mike) Cady of Pekin; nineteen grandchildren, Dylan Innis, Jacob Cady, Cash Cady, Taylor Cady, Riley Cady, Arlow Innis, Trace Voight, Jeremy Voight, Julia Sohn, Victoria Sohn, Dalaney Sohn, Hayley Sohn, Izahia Stafford, Ahnia Stafford, Owen Stafford, Ethan Stafford, Ellie Stafford, Addie Stafford and Alexandria Voight and one sister, Barbara Lancaster of Scotts Hill, Tennessee. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Penny Voight of Pekin and her children, Michael Voight, Christina Voight and Jennifer (Jason) Stafford, all of Pekin.
Jeff worked as an overhead crane operator at WABCO in Peoria for 15 years.
He enjoyed fishing, camping and attending stock car races. He raced stock cars at Peoria Speedway from 1978 to 1981.
He was of the Methodist faith
His funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. The Rev. Dr. Bobby Barnhill will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Cremation will be accorded following the funeral. Private inurnment will be Monday in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
