PEKIN ~ Nora Frye, 87, of Pekin, passed away at 2:48 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2018 at her home. She was formerly of Creve Coeur.
Born April 19, 1931 in Cherokee County, South Carolina to David L. and Nellie M. (Jones) Ogle, Sr., she married Dillard C. Frye on July 7, 1952 in Knoxville, Tennessee. He died February 8, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and four brothers.
Surviving are one daughter, Linda (Jim) Moore of Illinois; three sons, Rodney (Ivette) Frye of Texas, Donald (Fiona) Frye of Connecticut, and Randy (Sheryl) Frye of Iowa; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen King of Tennessee and one brother, David Ogle, Jr. of Tennessee.
A homemaker, Nora enjoyed sewing, crafts, reading and cake decorating. She had volunteered at Youth Community Center and had been a Boy Scouts Den Mother.
She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Pekin and was a former member of Creve Coeur Southern Baptist Church and Creve Coeur Women’s Club.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, November 2, 2018 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Pastor Samuel T. Gibb will officiate. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Morton.
