Kenneth E. Cochran

PEKIN ~ Kenneth Eugene Cochran, 78, of Pekin, passed away at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at UnityPoint Health – Methodist in Peoria.
Born December 7, 1939 in Safe, Missouri to Lester James and Etta Anna (Bailey) Cochran, he married Ada Fredonia Walls on July 30, 1962 in Rolla, Missouri. She died November 19, 2006 in Peoria. He also was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert Cochran.
Surviving are one daughter, Kelly Renee (Roger Payne) Broomfield of Pekin; two grandchildren, Joshua C. Broomfield of Pekin and Mariann R. Broomfield of East Peoria; two brothers, Paul (Linda) Cochran of Missouri and Larry (Diane) Cochran of Alameda, California and a half-sister, Lucreta.
Ken was a United States Navy veteran serving from 1958 to 1962, last aboard the USS Midway.
He retired from Caterpillar, Inc., where he had worked as a machinist. Ken also had worked at the Pekin Wash on Broadway in retirement.
He enjoyed coffee with his friends at Schnucks most mornings and was fond of Felix, his cat. Ken also loved fishing.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 5, 2018 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, with military rites accorded by United States Navy and the Tazewell Area Ceremonial Team.
