R. Pauline Maile

SOUTH PEKIN ~ Ruby Pauline Maile, 90, of South Pekin, passed away at 6 p.m. Monday, November 5, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Marquette Heights.

Born March 18, 1928 in Howell County, Missouri, to John Frank and Jessie Maude (Wilkinson) Christopher, she married George John Maile, Jr. on November 5, 1944 in Mountain View, Missouri.  He died November 30, 1999 in Pekin.  She also was preceded in death by her parents; one son, George J. “Butch” Maile, III on June 12, 1980; two grandchildren, Anthony “Tony” Maile and Stacey Johnson and one brother, John Christopher.

Surviving are two daughters, Donna I. (William) Regguinti of Marquette Heights and Cherie J. (Jerry) Greenslate of Hopedale; eight grandchildren, Keith (Yolanda) Maile, Tina Maile, Brenda (Marc) Dean, all of Pekin, Michael (Rhonda) Regguinti, of Sparland, Mark (Angela) Regguinti of Bellevue, Kimberly (Nathan) Price of Washington, Stefanie (Chad) Mitchell of Mesa, Arizona and Tege (Savanna) Tyler of Creve Coeur; many great-grandchildren and one brother, Jerry D. (Patricia) Christopher of Pomona, Missouri.

Pauline worked for the Peoria State Hospital in Bartonville from January 3, 1966 until its closing as a psychiatric aide.  She then worked for the George A. Zeller Mental Health Center in Peoria as a Mental Health Technician, retiring in 1986.

She could go into a dark alley and come out with a new friend.  She didn’t know a stranger.

Pauline was a member of South Pekin Congregational Church and the Ladies Aid Society of the church.  She was a former member of Pekin Women of the Moose Chapter 673.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  Rev. Ken Stewart will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour before the funeral.  Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
