Charles Henry Wilson

MANITO ~ Charles Henry Wilson, 79, of Manito, passed away at 6:43 p.m. Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Timbercreek Rehab & Healthcare in Pekin.
Born April 7, 1939 in Chicago to John Ralph and Mary Jane (Sipes) Wilson, he married Christine Joann “Crickett” Jamirson on December 27, 1993 in Pekin. She died August 12, 2012 in Manito. He also was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife.
Surviving are two sons, Charles (Colleen) Wilson of Mackinaw and Michael (Stefanie) Wilson of Pekin; four daughters, Kathy (Charles) McCoy of Pekin, Debbie (Mervin) Zinsmeyer of Yorktown, Virginia, Laury (Chuck) Stevens of Pekin and Teresa Lohman of Pekin; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Jeanette Duffield of Gilbert, Arizona and three brothers, Jackie (Judi) Wilson of Bolingbrook, James (Betty) Wilson of Toulon and Jeff Wilson of Bloomingdale. He also was looking forward to the upcoming birth of another great-grandchild.
Charles had served in the United States Air Force.
He worked for Caterpillar, Inc. as a millright, retiring with 35 years of service.
He formerly enjoyed racing flat track motorcycles, hunting, fishing and going to auctions. He also liked old cars. Charles was a member of the Pekin Moose Family Center 916, Pekin Eagles Aerie 1869 and Pekin Boat Club. He also was a member of the American Motorcycle Association in Pekin/Peoria.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2019 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Visitation will be held two hours before the funeral. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
