MORTON ~ Leah Dee Landis, 87, of Cadiz Kentucky, passed away at 3 a.m. Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Aperion Care Morton Villa.
Born February 12, 1931 in Altoona, Pennsylvania to Paul and Leah (Worrell) Trotter, she married Kenneth Landis in 1952 in Pennsylvania. He died February 1, 2013 in Cadiz, Kentucky. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are one daughter, Cheryl (Terry) Stallings of Delavan; one son, Jeffrey Landis of Dillon; four grandchildren, Brandie Stallings, Jeremy (Jessica) Stallings, Courtney (Aaron) Miller, Ryan (Barb) Landis and seven great-grandchildren, Brayden and Brody Stallings, Carter, Cole and Avery Miller and Madeline and Natalie Landis.
Leah had worked as an R.N. for the Peoria Health Department for many years. She also taught at Illinois Wesleyan University and Bradley University, where she received her Master’s Degree in Childhood Development.
She enjoyed volunteering at Trigg County Hospital, the local grade school and various organizations in Cadiz. She also enjoyed traveling with her family.
Leah was a member of Cadiz United Methodist Church in Kentucky.
Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Burial will be at a later date at Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
