Richard Raymond Waggoner

PEKIN ~ Richard Raymond Waggoner, 77, of Pekin, passed away at 12:44 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2019 at UnityPoint Health-Proctor in Peoria.
Born December 28, 1941 in Pekin to Ollie R. and Esta L. (Holler) Waggoner, he married Judith Kay Havens on July 14, 1962 in Effingham.  She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Richard R. (Evelyn) Waggoner, II of Pekin and Kyle L. (Katie) Waggoner of Lakemoore; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Don Waggoner of San Jose and Ronnie Waggoner, of Pekin; and one sister, Shirley Manor of Vero Beach, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Julie Revie; two grandchildren, Matthew Revie and Jed St. Cin; and one brother, Jerry Waggoner.
Richard attended Grace Baptist Church in Pekin.
He had served in the United States Army.
Richard worked as an inspector for Caterpillar, Inc., retiring in 1993 after 30 years of service.  He then worked for several years in maintenance at the Holiday Inn Brandywine in Peoria.
He was a member of the Pekin Family Moose Center 916, the William Schaefer American Legion Post 44 in Pekin, the Pekin Elks Lodge #1271 and the Pekin Jaycees.  He was also an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team.
His visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation.  Burial will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family to help with funeral expenses.
