Obituaries are so much more than a public notice that a friend or loved one has passed away.

Harold Urish

11/15/1939 - 5/13/2019

GLASFORD ~ On the evening of May 13th, 2019, Harold William "Bill" Urish gently passed away in his sleep at Proctor Hospital. He was born November 15, 1939, in Pekin to Harold Peter & Mildred (Lohmeier) Urish. In 1962, he married Joanne Elaine Warner and remained a devotedly loving husband until her passing in 2011.
He had an immeasurable love for his son, Harold Edwin "Eddie" Urish; step-children, Sherry Aldridge & Robbie Musgrave; grandchildren Whitney, Ellie, Jody, Jamey, Bobby, and Brandon; great-grandchildren Hudson, Chase, Lexi, Sydney, Samantha, Johnathan, Josiah, and Sophia; and great-great grandchild Ariana. That love extended to their significant others and all of his lifelong friends including Dick Kelso & John Searle
He never missed a Cubs game, nor one of his son’s theatrical performances, and was just as dedicated to public service. Bill was Timber Township Supervisor for over three decades, as well as a past member and president of the Illini Bluffs Community Unit School Board. Apart from being a lifetime farmer, he was the Eastern Regional Livestock Manager at Louis Dreyfus Corp. - a position that took him all across the globe, most frequently China. From cows, pigs, sheep, and horses to chickens, cats, and dogs, Bill adored and raised a menagerie of creatures during his lifetime as a farmer, though none more important to him than his constant companion Buddy the Dog.
Bill's family is eternally grateful for all the individuals who filled his life with joy and love.
To know Bill was to hear the sincere refrain, "If you need anything, call me." He lived as a beacon of hard-work, caring, and compassion. In death, he is reunited with his brother, Larry, Mother & Father, and the love of his life, Joanne.
A visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  The funeral will be at 2pm Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Glasford United Methodist Church with a visitation one hour before. The Rev. Ethan Carnes will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery in rural Glasford.
Please make donations in his name to Illini Bluffs Athletics or to the Glasford United Methodist Church.
