CREVE COEUR ~ Pansy Eloise Gatlin, 85, of Creve Coeur, passed away at 5:30 a.m. Monday, September 2, 2019 at UnityPoint Health - Methodist in Peoria.

Born July 24, 1934 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Jesse R. and Ruth E. (Bridgett) Allsup, she married Rev. Lelon B. Gatlin on May 9, 1953 in Peoria. He entered into eternal rest April 14, 2014.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Lelon Marcus Gatlin; one daughter, Cynthia Meadows; five brothers; and one sister.

Surviving are her one daughter, Marsha (Scott) Frick of East Peoria; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren, and one sister, Shelby Allsup of California

She cared for all who came in contact with her. She loved her family and was a wonderful wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She enjoyed her birds, flowers, and gardening.

She supported her husband in ministry as he pastored churches as a member of the Northern Illinois and Iowa General Baptist Association for 55 years. She was a member of Revive Church and a previous member of East Peoria General Baptist Church.

Her visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday September 5, 2019 at Revive Church, 3212 Springfield Road in East Peoria.  Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, September 6, 2019 at Revive Church in East Peoria, officiated by Pastor Robert Finley.  An additional visitation will be held prior to the funeral service on Friday from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at the church.  Burial will be held at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.

Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur.

Memorial contributions may be made to Sweet Kids Cruise in & Car Show going to Pediatric Diabetes Resource Center at the Children’s Hospital of Illinois, 530 NE Glen Oak Ave, Peoria, IL 61603.
