Betty A. Youmans

CREVE COEUR ~ Betty Ann Youmans, 81, of Creve Coeur, passed away at 6:02 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.

Born May 3, 1938 in Peoria to Roy and Bessie (Keithley) Whittles, she married Calvin Fitch Youmans on September 10, 1956 in Bartonville.  He died May 21, 1995.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Linda Bohm; three brothers, Harold, Roy, and John; and four sisters, Dorothy, Ruby, Margie, and Redith.

Surviving are three sons, Bob (Gloria) Youmans of Spring Hill, Florida, Calvin (Karla) Youmans of Peoria Heights, and Ed Youmans of Dry Ridge, Kentucky; five daughters, Sandy (Gary) Partin of De Mossville, Kentucky, Rose (Jack) Parker of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Karen (Richard) Webb of Owenton, Kentucky, Peggy (Larry) Brockway of Dry Ridge, Kentucky, and Bessie (Steve) Percefull of Creve Coeur; twenty-eight grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Viola Long of Canton.

A homemaker, Betty had worked as a CNA at many area nursing homes.

She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Betty will always be remembered as being kind to everyone she met.  She loved spending time with her family.  She also enjoyed traveling, playing cards, scratching lottery tickets, and playing board games with her family.

The family would like to thank Unity Point Hospice, and especially her Hospice Nurse, Don.  Thank you for taking wonderful care of Betty.

Her funeral will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.  Chaplain Jack Brown will officiate.  Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.  Burial will be at 1 p.m. (EST) Friday at Bedford Cemetery in Monon, Indiana.
